TWO YEARS, NO CANCER

Just had my 2-years-post-cancer-treatment oncology check-up. All clear.
World: It’s increasingly looking like I’m going to be around for a while. As a result, I’m going to have to take you by storm, and/or flip you on your ear.
Fair warning.

STALK AWAY

I’ve been doing improv comedy for 15 years now, and I’m still deeply in love with it. Been meaning to write a heartfelt essay about that. Maybe I’ll get around to it soon. In the meantime here is my battle plan for this weekend, the 11th annual Del Close Marathon of improv. [...]

PARIS WRAP-UP

Paris was great. Of course. The best part was my little sister’s dance piece (saw the dress rehearsal and a regular performance). The runner-up was everything else, in a 178-way tie.
I took a few pictures, such as this one at Sainte-Chapelle…

And this one at the Pere Lachaise cemetery…

I also made a little [...]

TO FRANCE!

I’m leaving for Paris on Wednesday, April 15th. I’ll be returning on Thursday, April 23rd. This is your last chance to say, “Hey Morgan, be sure to do X,” or, “Hey Morgan, watch out for Y.” (Where X and Y equal crazy French stuff.)
Here’s a list of what I’m most excited about:
Seeing [...]

MY GIRLFRIEND

It all sprang from a conversation I had with Beverly, my girlfriend. At dinner one night she suddenly blurted out, “You know, I don’t actually exist. I’m something you [...]

BULLY

Facebook has suggested that I “friend” the guy who used to push me around every day after school when I was in the 6th grade. I remember the bullying as going on for a few months, so by applying the principle of Misremembered Dramatic Time Distortion I can assume that it was actually closer [...]

PARIS ‘09

In April my little sister will be in Paris, France, performing in this:

I’ll be in the audience. After much hemming and hawing over the expense, I managed to find a $404 (including taxes and fees!) round trip ticket on Continental that broke the back of the Camel of Indecision. As they say.
I haven’t [...]

OLD MAN’S RANT

I scoffed at the woman at the Sprint store when she asked if I wanted her to walk me through my new phone’s basic features.  I shouldn’t have scoffed.
I have officially become old: I couldn’t figure out how to work the infernal gadget (Samsung’s “Rant”) without consulting the instruction manual.
In my defense, not including the [...]

10 FANTASY JOBS (SCALED BACK EDITION)

A while ago I devoted a blog post to a list of my 10 fantasy jobs.  Those were simpler times.  Now we’re teetering on the precipice of The Great Depression II, and it’s time to scale back our fantasies.  To dream smaller.  To compromise.
To have to beg our parents for rent money (again) unless we [...]
